How do I re decorate my living room to look like it has been “done” by an interior designer, when I am on a budget?

Hi there;

Everyone is on a budget these days, so your question is timely. We may have to cut back but there is no reason to stop enhancing our living space to feel happy and refreshed at home. I have turned this question over to my first stop in decorating and design expertise, Sasha Josipovicz of Studio Pyramid.

For “tight’ budgets always turn to do-it self projects, like paint or new
curtains…silk or good fabric these days is affordable thanks to places
like “design fabrics” on Queen west…even new pillows on an old sofa will be
refreshing. Just buy pre-made pillow forms or look at Winners or TJ Maxx for some bargains under $30.00 . They are pre made and affordable
Curtains are available through restoration hardware and Ikea as well. Bringing
small live plant like palms would cheer up any space. If your sofa needs
re-upholstering and you can not afford it then throw some funky piece of
fabric and sew some quirky fringe around and it will do the
trick. Accessorising with colourful glass helps a ton. Don’t use too many different
patterns as you don’t want your self done room to start to look like a gypsy tent.
